About the Role:

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

This role, reporting to the CMO, is responsible for:

  • Cross-functional, cross-departmental growth marketing initiatives to improve our KPIs, primarily CAC and LTV but many others
  • Driving testing and optimization throughout the entire user journey, including Conversion Rate Optimization, Referral Rate Optimization and more
  • Focusing on retention and monetization initiatives that drive subscription lifespan, LTV and other forms of engagement with our active and inactive subscriber base
  • Working with UA and Marketing teams to ensure all programs play well with each other, such that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts
  • Communicating test learnings throughout the organization

What We’ll Love About You:

  • Understanding of Growth Marketing as a program practice. You read, speak like a pirate, follow Andrew Foxwell, read Andrew Chen and applied to Demand Curve or Reforge
  • The ability to speak to both humans and algorithms. You live and breathe the data, but understand the importance of developing a true relationship with the consumer
  • Ability to lead through change and ambiguity while building foundational strategy and core competencies
  • Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written to clearly convey market dynamics, strategies, tactics, rationale and results
  • Ability to work across departments to bring our growth marketing practice to life through the entire customer journey, from acquisition to referral.
  • You understand that brand marketing and performance marketing are interconnected, and that data can inform and improve both. We believe the goal of marketing is to create, convert and build relationships with real human beings, driven by considered brand-building efforts and measured through data

What You’ll Need to Have:

  • 7+ years of experience in digital-first consumer marketing, with a full-funnel approach to marketing
  • A data-driven approach to measurement, process and system creations while still harnessing the impact of innovation, creativity and crazy ideas
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, including quickly and accurately assessing opportunities to determine the best approach.
  • Strong functional leadership experience with a “no job is too small” mindset as we scale with an entrepreneurial mindset across multiple team functions
  • An understanding of or fascination with behavioral economics, understanding how to nudge real people at scale
  • Strong experience in A/B testing - you have an Always Be Testing mindset and understand the best way to hone our KPIs is through ideation and optimization
  • The ability to balance subscriber-centric, bottom-line, and team-oriented marketing strategies
  • Experience driving success in a high-growth, e-commerce or subscription organization
  • Track record of scaling up multiple phases in the AARRR funnel
  • In-depth knowledge and expertise in paid media, content marketing, SEO, influencers, affiliate, and social media
  • Strong reporting expertise in attribution and site analytics
  • A self starter who proactively identifies problems as well as solutions, and are always seeking ways to improve the site even with limited resources
  • A strategic, entrepreneurial thinker who isn’t afraid to push the envelope and take calculated risks in the name of driving big wins
  • Data-driven and analytical. You always try to back decisions with data. When data is not available, you’re comfortable driving data analysis to inform decisions.
  • Customer-obsessed: You care deeply about building the right experience for our users, and try to do so from data analysis to market research to iterative testing
