While working under the VP of Operations, the Sr Director of Operations is responsible for supporting the eCommerce, B2B and subscription business. Overall responsibilities include delivering new capabilities in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, systems and performance for the dynamic and fast expanding subscription and eCommerce business. They will work to collaborate with cross-functional department teams to achieve deliverables including process improvement, cGMP operations, continuous improvement projects (yield increases), process robustness enhancement, COGs reduction, lean manufacturing (six sigma), process scale up strategy, facility upgrade and enhancement, strategic business and operations process development. This position requires strong project management capabilities, effective communication and collaboration skills, resourcefulness, and the ability to provide insight around potential risks and opportunities, resolve conflict and deliver results.
Support the Business Operations Leader and help enable a range of multi-disciplinary operating rhythms and transformation initiatives to help shape, implement, and manage the organization’s operating plan and strategy
Break down organizational issues into key components and design analytical and operational approaches to identify solutions
Evaluate operational performance, identify patterns and problem areas, and implement effective solutions to increase efficiency
Develop best practices and implement them uniformly across departments
Organizational Change Management
Create a department strategic plan aligned with the company-wide business plan
Report regularly to the VP of Operations with updates on short term and strategic solutions and projects
Partner with cross functional teams to ensure we are able to support different sales channels (B2B/Wholesale/Retail/DTC/ec) and assist with go to market strategy/implementation
Relationship Management will be key as this role requires engagement with Sales and Business leaders across the organization
Create scalable operational framework for B2B/DTC domestic and international expansion through logistics and order management processes
Systems management and Order reconciliations related to any outbound orders (properly transmitted, no errors, troubleshooting flows, month end close)
Onboard and implement new software and systems, related to orders, B2B client experience, and Manufacturing & Fulfillment.
Drive a culture of safety while overseeing Environmental, Health, Safety and security across all locations.
Oversee all internal and external manufacturing and fulfillment operations
Implement process improvements in Manufacturing and fulfillment that will drive overall cost reductions and margin improvements.
Build and establish appropriate processes and systems to consistently improve operating productivity and efficiency
Interact regularly and collaboratively with internal and external customers
Support business development in project evaluation, due diligence and providing technical inputs to potential projects
Manage and plan budget, projects, personnel and schedules to perform specific projects according to deliverables and overall priorities
Develop strategy and objectives of the group to meet the organization’s strategic goals according to five-year strategic plan
Lead or participate in global expansion if Subscription and OWN Brands Distribution
Identify and troubleshoot process deviations and suggest effective corrective and preventative actions and lead and author key investigation reports by closely working with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and other relevant stakeholders.
Identify process improvement opportunities and implement process changes and improvements through quality systems by creating and managing a CI program (Continuous Improvement)
Provide outstanding leadership to team members, including opportunities for coaching and development, to maximize work output and work quality
Perform other duties as assigned
Manages supervisors and managers in the Manufacturing, fulfillment, Project management and EHS&S teams.
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
What You’ll Need to Have:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
5-10 years of manufacturing and fulfillment experience
3-5 years of experience overseeing international operations
1-2 years of eCommerce and Subscription channel experience a plus
Proven ability to solve problems creatively
Excellent analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
