This person will be responsible for managing the Goodhabit and Confessions of a Rebel brands within the whole product development lifecycle from concept to launch, interacting with vendors (formulation labs and packaging suppliers), managing timelines and ensuring all the key milestones are met.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Ideate and present new product concepts to VP & CEO/ Co-Founder
Identify and capitalize on new growth/white space opportunities through competitive analysis
Manage trend forecasting, concept ideation, and concept write-ups
Initiate competitive reviews and maintain a pulse on key emerging trends
Create in-depth and thorough PowerPoint presentations for new concepts
Create in-depth lab briefs for new product concepts
Purchases competitive products. Organizes distribution of these products; tracks and records feedback from Product Development Team
Lead market research, ingredient search, specific market analysis research, competitor’s product assessment and pricing.
Manage consumer testing on owned brands to confirm new product benefits and positive results.
Create positioning statements and Fact Sheets to support each new idea/innovation
Manage third party manufacturers/vendors in the formulation process. Including sample requests and submission forms to internal and external parties with accurate documentation and tracking systems.
Manage pricing strategy for owned launched, including pricing scales, COG targets, recommended SRPs
Manage COG and target margins for owned projects
Manage and organize product sample storage including not limited to: development submissions, product prototypes, product standards and manufacturer capabilities.
Maintains all PD documents and charts on excel, Word, PowerPoint and Asana
NEW LAUNCH PROCESS
Manage the NPD process for owned launches, partnering with all cross functional teams
Create & manage development timelines to ensure on time performance of projects
Co-Manage the package development process including, but not limited to; initial package ideation, package brief creation, sourcing, COG negotiation, artwork turnover, PPS & production approval
Provide clear direction to packaging vendors (or package developer team member) on all formulation aspects to support appropriate packaging development (ingredients, actives, viscosity, color, and formula limitations)
Evaluate and co-approve proposed package submissions for evacuation, aesthetics, and functionality
Manage copy development of owned projects
What You’ll Need to Have:
4+ years of experience in cosmetics or consumer goods manufacturing
Knowledge of packaging component manufacturing and finished good filling processes
Ability to predict, recognize and define problems, and generate, select and implement timely solutions
Experience in sustainable packaging initiatives
Detailed knowledge of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging types
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex projects in tandem
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects – prioritization and planning
Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
Process improvement experience
